IDAHO JUNIORS MAY APPLY FOR AEROSPACE PROGRAM THROUGH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION – Idaho high school juniors will have the opportunity to take a special STEM class that could result in their having an opportunity to visit the NASA Ames Research Center in Sunnyvale, Calif., next summer and meet top NASA scientists and engineers.  Registration will be open from September 2 through November 18, 2016, for the Idaho Science and Aerospace Scholars program, a cooperative program of the Idaho State Department of Education and NASA. Once accepted into the program, students will sign up for the special on-line course, which is provided through the Idaho Digital Learning Academy (available at all schools), by going to their IDLA school site coordinator.  The course will be offered from January through May and students will receive one science elective credit for completing the class

September character focus is “RESPECT”. Recognizing, considering and properly honoring the worth of one’s self and others.

Idaho Hill school wide rules:  Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.

We are off to a wonderful start this school year.  The group of students that we have this year are outstanding!  Students have been hard at work with beginning of the year testing.  They have all participated in a district math assessment, a district writing assessment, a fluency and comprehension assessment, and math assessments.  We will use the information that we gather about students during these assessments to make sure that they have been placed in the correct language arts and math classes.  We will also use the data to monitor student growth throughout the year.  I have to say that students this year have taken the work very seriously, and have done their very best.  They should all be proud of the hard work that they are putting in.
On another note, your child should have brought home a letter at the beginning of this week inviting parents to attend a parent night in regards to the 4word Momentum event that students will participate in this Friday.  The parent night is on Thursday, September 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the PRJH auditorium.  Please join us!
Thank you for all of the continue support!
